What Time Should I Arrive At The Mud Run?

If you are running the race, we recommend that you arrive AT LEAST an hour before the start to park, pick up your registration, pass security, and limber up.  Waves of runners will start at 9:00 and continue for every 15 minutes until all runners are on the trail.

Yes, the more the merrier!

How Will I Be Timed?

Timing for the Mud Run will be provided again this year. All racers are provided either a chip timer or ankle band which will need to be returned at the end of the race.  However, remember if you lose your timer during the race it will not register when you cross the finish line — meaning you will not have a recorded time.  ALL CHIP TIMERS MUST BE AFFIXED TO YOUR ANKLE OR SHOE OR IT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP BY THE ELECTRONIC PAD AT THE FINISH LINE. 

Can I Bring Anything With Me To Race?

No.  Only your ability to race and handle obstacles well is needed.  All items brought to the race, if not able to carry with you or lock it in your car, become your responsibility should it become lost or stolen.  Bethesda will not be held responsible for any missing items.  Please leave your valuables at home.

Can I Skip An Obstacle?

If you are unable to complete an obstacle, you are under no obligation to complete that obstacle. Our objective is to have a safe and fun Mud Run.

How Old Do I Need To Be To Run In The Mud Run?

All participants need to be at least 12 years of age or older by mud run day.  Children 12 and under must be accompanied during the race with a parent or guardian.

If I Am Attending Without A Parent Or Legal Guardian, What Do I Need To Bring?

Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver form. In the instance that a parent cannot attend the event, please be sure to bring a signed waiver form to the event on race day.

What If I Get Hurt?

Course officials and medical staff will be present during the entire event.  If you get hurt, our highly trained staff will work swiftly to patch you up.  This is a run-at-your-own-risk race.  Bethesda takes no responsibility for injuries sustained on the course, which is why you are asked to sign a waiver of liability.

I Have Trained My Dog/cat/bird To Run With Me, Can I Bring Them To Race With Me?

No.  Only registered participants meeting the age requirements will be allowed to navigate the course.  Please do not bring any pets to the mud run.

Are There Refunds Available?

No, but you can certainly transfer your ticket to a friend.  We will need the following information about the person who will be taking over your ticket in order for the transfer to be complete:

Can I Purchase More Than One Ticket At A Time?

Sure can…we encourage you to bring as many as you can fit in your car! You can add an unlimited amount of registrants to your purchase.

Can I Buy Tickets The Day Of — At The Event?

You will be able to register up to and on the day of the race, however, we will not guarantee that you will receive a shirt, handouts, or timing chip.

What Kind Of Obstacles Should I Expect?

Expect the unexpected. Our obstacles will be challenging, but not impossible. There will be no unsafe obstacles (i.e., electric shocks, barbed wired, etc.) If the obstacle is not a man-made one, it will be made by nature and will prove to be a bit difficult. Stay tuned to our site, “Like” us on Facebook for all obstacle updates, as we will release them periodically leading up to race day.

Can I Bring Any Outside Food/beverages To The Mud Run?

No.  Food and beverages will be available for each runner for no charge during our after race celebration. Visitors and spectators may attend our after race celebration at a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.
